Setutila is an initiative founded upon the principle of ṛṣi-ṛṇa, a profound sense of indebtedness to the seers and sages of Bhārata.

Our Foundation

Our work is rooted in the Bhāratīya-ṛṣi-paramparā. We owe an eternal debt to Bhagavān Vedavyāsa, the Supreme Guru of this lineage, and to Śrī Madhvācārya, who revitalized ancient traditions in alignment with the primordial teachings. Through the prolific works of Śrī Madhvācārya, these sacred traditions were preserved and transmitted to posterity.

We further acknowledge the Guru-paramparā, the countless practitioners, authors, teachers and scribes who diligently composed, wrote, studied, taught, and enriched this corpus with timeless commentaries and contemporary interpretations.

Editorial Inspiration

In the last century, the preservation of these texts through rigorous manuscript editions was championed by eminent scholars. We bow in gratitude to the lifetime scholarship of:

  • Śrī T. R. Krishnacharya
  • Śrī K. T. Pandurangi
  • Śrī Bannanje Govindacharya
  • Dr. Vyāsanakere Prabhanjanacharya
  • Dr. A. V. Nagasampige and others.

Their published works have been our primary touchstone for proofreading and documenting variant readings.

Setutila also draws deep inspiration from the pioneering efforts in digital humanities and open-source publishing done over the last three decades.
